The French Riviera includes the Cap d’Ail, which is a very popular tourist destination.
The community of Cap d’Ail, as an administrative unit, was created in 1908. But as a hydropathic hospital, founded by Baron de Pauville, this place is known since 1879. The town is situated on the last spurs of a mountain range called the «Dog’s Head» which reaches all the way to Monaco and can be reached by a footpath along the sea shore. Cap d’Ail is a prestigious center of tourism. The nature here is amazingly beautiful: coves, cliffs, hiking trails soaked in the scent of pine, eucalyptus, sycamore.
The city has an open-air theater by Jean Cocteau, decorated with magnificent mosaic paintings by this artist.
