Carnival in Nice

Carnival in Nice

Every February, the streets of Nice host a real celebration designed to banish winter moping - Carnaval!

Colorful floats in the Corsi Carnavalesques and Batailles de Fleurs day and evening parades, street concerts, a noisy fair and popular festivities await you. The carnival attracts more than 200,000 visitors each year and is one of the biggest events on the Côte d'Azur.

Designers have been working for months on the platforms and promise to surprise the public with large-scale installations, and participants prepare unusual costumes for the grand parade.

The ceremony will be attended by the traditional king and queen, the Carnival herald, flag-bearers, musicians and dance troupes, while a light show illuminates the sky over the city.

For the duration of the carnival, a themed village with booths and refreshments has been set up in the Albert I Garden. Various performances for adults and children will take place in the Teatro Verdure throughout the festival.

Before the parades, the public will be able to get a detailed look at each participating platform. They will be placed in the city center on Place Massena.
